UPDATED ON FEB. 18
The groups day started out as being guests
of honor at a the opening of a local temple.
They then made their way to the site.
Once on site they were able to get some of
the lay out complete. Tomorrow they
will continue with the layout & start drilling holes.
|
UPDATED ON FEB. 19
Today more layout was done, but still
dealing with some grading issues. The auger
showed up but it looks like the ground is too
hard for the hand held one.
They will have a local guy coming out
tomorrow to see if he can drill them with his
bigger macine. *fingers crossed*

UPDATED ON FEB. 20
Finally some success.
Today they began drilling the holes!
They had to purchase a local ‘wheel barrow’
to move out the dirt and found a coconut shell
to help with cleaning out the holes.
They then had a snack of some of the local food.
|
UPDATED ON FEB. 21
Today was another dirty day. All the holes have
been cleaned out & the site has been cleared.
They have had great volunteers from local
communites helping out each day.

A great group of volunteers put
in a hard days work.

Today was clean up and organize the site, then down to business.
Even though the original swing legs
did not get packed into the container,
they were able to find the right pipe size,
cut to length and were back on site
within a couple of hours.

UPDATED ON FEB. 27
It’s starting to come together.
Today would have been the grand opening
if the container had not been delayed.
As a couple of volunteers return to Canada,
the remaining group members have decided
to stay on and finish the build.

UPDATED ON FEB. 28
Today, after a lot of hard work by both the

UPDATED ON MARCH 1
Well the day finally arrived. After a few
delays, some very hot & long days of work for
the group as well as the local volunteers,
and the many years of planning, it was
Grand Opening Day.
This is why this group does these projects,
just look at the smiles and hear the laughter.
It brings so much joy!
